Do Not Encourage Spammers
Some tips from the Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce (ACFT) to keep scammers at arm's length include:
PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY
- Your personal details are private and invaluable - keep them that way and away from scammers.
- Ignore suspicious emails, letters, phone calls or text messages - press 'delete', throw them out or just hang up.
- Scammers will play on your emotions to get what they want.
- Watch out for scammers posing as someone that you know and trust, or pretending to know you.

My Android Adventure Begins
I have until recently counted myself as a pretty basic mobile phone user - I made phone calls and sent the occasional SMS, and that was it. I never felt the urge to send a multimedia message, and I didn't much feel the need for email or any other internet-enabled applications on my phone. After all, I spend much of the day in front of the computer and have all the connectivity I could wish for there, combined with a nice big screen. So for a long time my Nokia E51 fit the bill nicely: light, slim, long battery life and a great, if small, screen. My iPod Touch and aging but effective Sony Clie (Palm clone) did adequate duty as pocket internet device and personal organiser, respectively.
